Remove Pet Urine Stains from your carpet by NaturalDry

Step 1:

If the area is still wet you should first absorb the dog urine using a wet towel (hot wet towel). Leaving it there to dry out will only help create bacterial growth which causes the odor.
One of the best ways to remove the dog urine is to using a wet dry vac. If you don’t own one an different method is to place several layers of paper towel over the wet urine area or towels and step on it so as to soak up as much of the dog urine as you possibly can. You will have to repeat this a few times until no more dog urine can be soaked up.

Sometimes dog urine may have already dried because you did not notice them in the carpet before. You can find dried urine spots on your carpet with the aid of a black light like our technicians do when cleaning your home. The dog urine stains will fluoresce under the ultra violet light in a darkened room. Hand held black lights are quite inexpensive and normally cost between $15 – $30.

If you can’t afford the cost of a black light. Find the urine spots by using your nose. Just get down on your carpet and sniff and find the urine odors that way.

Step 2:
Mix in a spray bottle fifty percent hydrogen peroxide and fifty percent water. Use a spray bottle to apply the solution to the carpet. Work the solution into the carpet with a soft brush or clean white towel. Be sure not to spray this solution to closely to the carpet. You don’t want to create any bleach out problems. We recommend diluting the hydrogen with water at a 50/50 rate, after testing and this does not work, use more hydrogen peroxide and less water. Just don’t spray to closely or to much. 3 sprays should work.

Blot the area using a clean white cloth or paper towel to absorb the solution. If you own a wet/dry vacuum extractor use it to remove excess moisture. This should remove the stain, any discoloration (yellowness) left from the stain can be removed by using more hydrogen peroxide or call us for your free las vegas carpet cleaning quote.
